France/Holland, North Sea Cycle Route

An unsupported camping tour using the North Sea Cycle Route (LF1). Cycle from Guines 10km south of Calais through Belgium to Amsterdam in Holland. Two-night stays at 4 campsites allows for cycling without luggage or rest days. The terrain will range from flat-lands and river valleys to rolling hills.
This tour is land only so you have the option of arriving by ferry, Eurostar or Eurotunnel to Calais which is 10km from the first camp site. For the return journey you can choose between Rotterdam to Hull, Amsterdam to Newcastle or Hook of Holland to Harwich. This challenging tour will bring you face to face with two of the most vibrant cycling cultures in Europe. If you are looking for the simple pleasure of cycling on marked cycle routes in cycle friendly countries or prefer to walk round places of interest, the informal structure of this tour allows you to enjoy parts of France, Belgium and Holland in the company of like-minded cyclists. A self supported lightweight camping tour with the opportunity to enjoy a rich mixture of golden beaches, European Space Expo, heritage sites from the two world wars and working wind mills. From the small villages to the large towns and cities you will find the people of Belgium and Holland will welcome you with their excellent English.
