Our Cycling Holiday Grades

A Cycling Holiday is about having fun! We want to ensure that you enjoy your holiday whatever your level of fitness and cycling experience and so all of our holidays are graded to help you choose the one that's right for you.
It is important to note, however, that the Holiday Grade is only provided as a guide. You should also read the detailed information about the holiday as this will contain more information about the type of terrain and the distances cycled each day and whether or not you will need to carry your own luggage on the bike. If you are in any doubt about the suitability of a Cycling Holiday, you should contact the Tour Manager before making a booking.


Suitable for anyone who can ride a bike confidently and who leads a reasonably active life. The pace is relaxed, the terrain is usually flat to undulating although there may be the occasional steeper hill. Daily distances are usually 15 to 35 miles (24 to 56km) and any longer days are usually optional. A good introduction to a cycling holiday.

Suitable for experienced cyclists with a good level of fitness. The pace is moderate and the terrain is likely to be hilly with some longer and/or steeper climbs and descents. Daily distances are usually up to 50 miles (80km) although there may be occasional longer days.

Show All Moderate Holidays


Suitable for experienced cyclists with stamina and a high level of fitness who enjoy cycling in hilly terrain or who are happy to spend long days in the saddle. There are likely to be some challenging days involving extended ascents and descents. Daily distances can be up to 65 miles (105km) although there may be occasional longer days.

Show All Challenging Holidays


Suitable for experienced cyclists who have complete confidence in their fitness and cycling ability and who are up for a challenge. These holidays are likely to involve steep terrain and could potentially include poor road surfaces. There may be consecutive long days in isolated areas and you could also be cycling at high altitude. Daily distances can be up to 65 miles (105km) although there could be much longer days in the saddle.
